The bulls have the best record in the NBA but does that make them the best? watching them loose back to back games to Oklahoma another poteintial finals team and then to Houston who isn't even close makes you wonder. Coming into the final games of the regular season is a time to make a statement and finish strong. This is the point in the season where you insure fear into your opponents, let then know who they have to go through to get the Larry O'brien trophy.
I don't sense this fear from the Bulls, truthfully Rose has been injured and he and Hamilton has not played much together this season but heavy is the head that wears the crown. This raises the real question of can they survie the playoffs without Rose and I think we all know the answer to that. The Bulls still may have not found the groove they need to make it to the finals let alone win it all. Injuries has played a huge role in keeping them from finding their chemistry, but this is the playoffs and injuries or not this is a whole new season.
I would love to see a 7th banner raised in the United Center I just don't think it will be this season. It's almost like reliving the late 80's and early 90's that almost getting there oh so close but like the song says almost doesn't count. It's the right of passage all over again for the Bulls but I do feel that soon, very soon they will bring pride back home and raise a 7th banner and I just can't wait. It will be just like the good ole' days.

This is only the begining
If you're just visiting I love this game for the first time I encourage you to stay tuned. I will be posting more external links and even videos of some of my favorite games. I finally made up my mind to do this this month so it is a work in progress i'm sure you will enjoy it as time passes! Have a great week!
The Fab Five
Watching the final four this weekend brought back some fond memories. My favorite era of college hoops ( and i'm sure i'm not alone here) was of course the early 90's and The Fab Five! they may have come close and never won a national championship but 20 years later they still roll off the tounges of any real hoops fan that was lucky enough to be around during that time. There was nothing more exciting than watching Chris, Jalen, Juwan, Jimmy and Ray take the court. You knew you were in for a treat for those two hours you watched the game.
Of all of the games I watched the fab five play I think the most memorable one was in the second round of the 93 tourney against UCLA. They played from behind for the entire game and I feared that my college bball heros were on their way out. It didn't help when Jalen rose fouled Shon Tarver while shooting a 3 in the closing seconds of the second half which meant 3 free throws. In my mind I was like what were you thinking!?!
Jimmy King came to save the day like superman. First stepping in front of Tyus Edney to steal his pass under the basket which sent the game into overtime, then the play i'll never forget the put back on the missed shot by Jalen Rose UCLA wanted to argue that the shot shouldn't have counted because the ball didn't hit the rim, but it did and that made it a free ball and King was in the right place at the right time. Michigan wins and all was right in my world.
The night that Michigan lost to North Carolina in the national championship I cried like I lost a loved one. Looking back on it now it was a blessing in disguise who knew years later that all the banners, all the victories would be taken away as if they never exsisted.Any true fab five fan know they can never take away the moments, the excitement and what the fab five brought to college basketball, in fact I don't think it would be as exciting now if it wasn't for them. Do I remember who won the national championship a year ago? no but I remember where I was when the fab five first stepped on the court. Now if that isn't a hell of an impact I don't know what is.
Introduction/ How I fell in love with b-ball
I have debated for months if I wanted to start a blog about the game that I have grown to love, basketball. I've watched basketball ever since I was old enough to speak my own name. Almost 30 years. I started watching basketball in 1983 because in our house my dad had control over what was watched and if he was watching basketball you watched basketball!
I fell in love with the excitement of the game. I fell in love with the rush and the athleticisim what the player could do on the court and how it grabbed my attention and turned me into a tom boy for the rest of my life! I was hooked and since then I love this game!
I have seen some of the best and worst moments of the NBA and NCAA basketball. Some of the greatest rivalries, greatest players and greatest games. I watched Dr J. win his one and only title with the sixers, I watched the battles between Bird and Magic, Magic and Isaiah (which by the way I hated the Detroit Pistons) And Michael what can I say about Michael but simply the best! We dominated the NBA in the 90"s which was hard for me because I was a Knicks fan as well and John Starks was my favorite player. I loved his i'm not backing down attitude and fearless play. I was a Fab Five fanatic! hated Christian Laettner and the Duke Bluedevils. I could go on and on but I think you get the point.
This will be very exciting for me to talk about and share my opinions on a game that still has me hooked to this day. I will admit the NBA isn't what it use to be but it still keeps me attracted. I don't think i'll ever loose it.This is my ode to hoops. I truly hope you enjoy my blog and continue to return to read more so stay tuned.
